Finalist for the 2020 San Diego Book Awards, and Honorable Mention for the 2020 Kops-Fetherling International Book Awards. In this groundbreaking work, Melody Kramer uses her 20+ years as a trial lawyer to untangle the mysterious world of lawyers, giving you the inside scoop on why lawyers are the way they are, why they think and act the way they do, and how to use that information to empower your working relationships with them. This easy-to-read book is filled with real-life stories and helpful “hacks”—practical tips you can use right away to save money, save time, and reduce stress.

I had to hire 3 attorneys, at different time. While they appeared fine, their actions suggest a strong sense of entitlement to big pay, another phrase for "greedy."So I was totally enthralled and relieved by this empowering book. I was not alone. I was just naïve. It not only explains why attorneys are the way they are. It also provides tips on selecting and hiring attorneys. Many attorneys once had noble intent. We need more people like Kramer to point out what caused them to change. There are many factors: law schools, legal system, the hourly pay system, the law firm evaluation system and the litigation process..etc. With their disregard to providing valuable work, justice is unaffordable by many.
